Captain's Message:

Women 1

History: Women's team started in 1991.

2001 Season: The First team were league champions of the Ontario Women's League (OWL). Another highlight of the season was an exhibition game they played against the Quebec Provincial side in July, which they won

The Second's team advanced to the TRU Premier league and did quite well, placing third in the league. They also played against the Quebec development team, which was a great game to help elevate the women's level of play.

As well, several players were nationally long-listed last year including: Deanna Adams Heather Hunt Rosemarie Baker Maureen MacMahon Araba (Roo) Chintoh Deanna Naus Tamara Curtis Leigh Nevermann Marlene Donaldson Dallas Sambolec Joan Hazell Moria Shiels

Maureen MacMahon and Moira Shiels played for Canada against the USA in August. The Canada U-23 had a game as well with plenty of Scottish representation as well: Allan Hawes (Coach) Joan Hazell Araba (Roo) Chintoh Leighann Nevermann Dallas Sambolec

Those players selected from the Scottish to play for Canada at the 2002 Women's World Cup in Barcelona, Spain in May are: Araba (Roo) Chintoh Maureen MacMahon Moira Shiels (Canada Co-Captain)

Non traveling reserves are: Dallas Sambolec Tamara Curtis

Several players also represented Ontario in 2001. This year proves to be an exciting year with changes to the OWL structure that will allow for the Scottish to play club on club. This will help developing players get more playing time as well as allowing both teams to support each other at games.
